WIL ANDERSON
Wil Anderson hung up the headphones at the end of 2004 and hit the road in a big way in 2005. After five years on Triple J breakfast Wil decided to see what it felt like to not get up before the birds.
He hasn't left all of his media commitments behind. He continues to host The Glass House with Dave Hughes and Corinne Grant on ABC-TV and writes a weekly column for The Sunday Magazine - the most widely read magazine in the country.
But the focus for 2005 was stand-up, undertaking the year's biggest stand-up tour playing theatres in 29 towns and cities across a five month period. A similarly huge tour will unfold in the first half of 2006. Wil's stand up is a densely written, high-speed ride though one of the most wonderful comedic imaginations in the country. Politics, pop and the banal come together in a Wil Anderson routine, always delivered with more conviction and enthusiasm than any man's vocal chords can take.
"His best ever show round these parts...a riot for those in attendance" Adelaide Advertiser
"If you ever have the chance, go and see Wil Anderson live. I could have sat there all night if laughing so hard didn't hurt so much..." City News |
