TRIPOD
Tripod is an Australian musical comedy act, specialising in improv, parody and satire. As its name suggests, the band is a trio; it comprises Scod (Scott Edgar), Yon (Simon Hall) and Gatesy (Steven Gates). The trio cover a wide variety of performance styles, from soft ballads to hard rock, usually performing these songs with only the aid of Scod (and, at times, Gatesy) playing acoustic guitar.
At times they feature humorous sounds, such as Yon and his Flute from the Open Slather album, but their particular brand of humour stems from the lyrics of their songs and the comedic timing, often including the three men bickering on stage. The lyrics are often satirical or off-beat, and topics have included movie-style martial arts, stalking, interesting Shakespearean-era words, and counterterrorism. |

ROBERT M PEARSON
Robert M Pearson has performed in the US, Canada and Japan: he’s hailed as one of the finest visual comic/cabaret performers in the business today.
His showbiz career started with a comedy/variety singing group in Sydney. He stayed with the multi award winning group until 2002 when they did their final farwell tour. (In that period, the group clocked up 27 MO and 4 ACE awards.) While co-writing a lot of the comedy routines for the comedy/singing group, Robert started writing his own style of comedy for stage. Inspired by the great comedians of the silent movie era, he created his own off-the-wall act. He not only uses classic and classical pieces of music for his comedy routines, he also plays the fiddle, sings opera and performs a piece from Riverdance. Each routine takes the audience on a wonderful journey.
Robert is a master of misdirection: whatever the audience is expecting him to do he's as likely to do the complete opposite. Guests even think he's a ventriloquist! Is he? Well, it's all part of the magic.
