YOUTH GROUP
Sydney band Youth Group’s story-to-date reads something like a three-act play. The first act begins in 1998, with founding members Toby Martin and Danny Allen forming an indie rock band that releases its debut album ‘Urban & Eastern’ in 2000. Out of print since 2003, the album will be re-released in July 2006 after the band discovers not only are secondhand copies going for up $90 at Redeye Records, but that they themselves no longer have copies. ‘Urban & Eastern’ establishes Youth Group as one of Australia’s best kept underground secrets.

ROGUE TRADERS
The Rogue Traders sure know how to make an entrance. Two years may have passed since they last graced the Australian charts, but the electro-rock single that signalled their return, 'Voodoo Child', exploded across the airwaves with an immediacy that was breathtaking. It debuted in the Top 10 back in June and has been resident ever since. With its warped, insistent Hammond organ riff and singer Natalie Bassingthwaighte's cracked, rock snarl, 'Voodoo Child' is already a pop classic in the making. But for Rogue Traders, the song was always more than just a single. "It was a signpost for the album", says Rogue Trader James Ash. No longer a dance act, the Rogue Traders have evolved on 'Here Come The Drums' with a new look, a new member - singer Natalie Bassingthwaighte - and a whole new sound.

RUSSELL MORRIS
In the late 1960’s Russell Morris became a teenage pop pinup idol with No.1 classic hits like “The Real Thing”, “Part 3 Into Paper Walls”, “Sweet Sweet Love”, “That Girl I Love”, “Wings Of An Eagle”, “Mr America” and “Rachael”. Now an Australian music biz cult hero, a host of hip young Australian bands such as “The Whipper Snappers” and “The Third Eye” have rediscovered his songs and brought them to the attention of a whole new generation. Cementing that even further was the success in 2001 of the Australian film “The Dish” which featured both his songs “The Real Thing” and “Wings Of An Eagle”. The film was a huge success in the USA and to top off such a successful year for Russell, top Australian band “Midnight Oil” also recorded a version of “The Real Thing”. He’s played giant shows of up to 100,000 people, worked in tiny clubs to audiences of 40 and over the past five years to year 2000 after returning from an extensive stay in Los Angeles, re-built his music career in Australia. Others such as Paul Simon and Linda Ronstadt have commented on his distinctive voice, and Elton John rates him as one of the finest talents Australia has ever produced. Russell has had two No.1 singles; five top 10 singles and has raked up singles and album sales in excess of 500,000 units.
