Guy Sebastian

GUY SEBASTIAN

Guy Sebastian is one of Australia’s greatest singers and performers.

Guy grew up in the outer suburbs of Adelaide, South Australia. Guy’s interest in music started at a young age singing at his Kindergarten graduation at the age of four. This interest continued throughout his early teens as he sang actively at church, weddings, and in various bands. He graduated high school with straight A’s and studied Medical Radiation which he later left to pursue his dream, to be a singer/songwriter.

In 2003 Guy became the first Australian Idol winner, capturing the hearts of Australians with his uniqueness and incredible vocal talent. His first solo single 'Angels Brought Me Here' debuted at number one and was the highest selling Australian single in ARIA chart history. The smash hit single reached No. 1 in four Asian countries and New Zealand proving Guy is a world class talent.

daryl braithwaite

DARYL BRAITHWAITE

Sherbet fronted by Daryl Braithwaite is a band that will forever remain in the history books of Australian Music due to their phenomenal success.
Between 1971 and 1978, Sherbet released 15 albums and 30 singles, many reaching the National Top 40. Among these singles were "Child's Play," "Slipstream," "Cassandra," "Life," "Summer Love" and of course "Howzat," which not only reached No. 1 in Australia but obtained chart success in England and America.
As a solo artist he released "Edge" which was a huge success topping the Australian charts for many weeks before gaining multi platinum status. In 1989 it became the highest selling CD in Sony Music Australia's history. Five singles were released from edge, these being "As The Days Go By," "All I Do," "One Summer," "Let Me Be" and "Sugar Train."
Rise was Daryl's next release in November 1990. He felt the album was a little easier to record as it was more topical, and there were many things going on around him at the time that gave him inspiration.
The next album "Rise" also gained multi platinum status. The singles released off this album were "Rise," "The Horses," making it to No. 1 and was song of the year in 1991 at the Australian Music Awards, "Higher Than Hope," "Don't Hold Back Your Love" and "Nothing To Lose."

hoodoo gurus

HOODOO GURUS

Hoodoo Guru in Chief, Dave Faulkner was once asked whether the band he sings and plays guitar for, had left an influence. “I know we have,” he replied. “I see it in lots of things going on, but whether it’s our influence or people that we were influenced by, who can tell? I see our way of thinking, which is something that when we started I didn’t see as much of.”

The Hoodoo Gurus formed in Sydney on January 1, 1981 to play their first "show" in an inner city lounge room. Core members are Dave Faulkner and Brad Shepherd. Their first single was "Leilani", followed by "Tojo" and "My Girl" which were both released in 1983. The Surry Hills rock scene was hot in those days - Flaming Hands, Sunnyboys, Died Pretty, Hoi Polloi, Sekret Sekret, and the Lipstick Killers. The Gurus were hot.
