angie hilton the sirens

SIRENS

Sirens performance for Big Brother was so impressive they received a call from the now infamous Sara Marie. She wanted to do a cover of the Pointer Sisters song, 'I'm So Excited'. Sara Marie could think of no better group than Sirens to help her pull it off. With a Number 1 on Video Hits and in the Top 10 around the country, Sirens have proved themselves to be a formidable trio.
Individually & together the girls have performed as backing vocalists for Ronan Keating, Merrill Bainbridge, Vanessa Amorosi, Wendy Matthews, Thelma Houston & Ricky Martin on the 2001 Logie awards.
Their latest release "Like Fire Like Rain" was written for them by Merrill Bainbridge and has received fantastic commercial coverage.

Rachael Beck

RACHAEL BECK

Award-winning actor Rachael Beck is one of Australia's most in-demand performers in musical theatre and television.
Much of Rachael's current time is dedicated to musical theatre, including her most recent role of 'Kathy Selden' in the hit IMG production of Singing in the Rain directed by David Atkins, which earned her a prestigious Mo Award nomination.
Rachael is widely remembered for her award winning role opposite Hugh Jackman as 'Belle' in Beauty and the Beast, which won an ARIA Award for the Best Australian Soundtrack / Cast / Show Release in 1996.
An impressive list of television credits also supports Rachael's position as one of Australia's most promising actors, including Stingers, Mercury, The Feds, This Man This Woman, GP, Flying Doctors, and her popular role as 'Sam' in Hey Dad over three years. little birdy

LITTLE BIRDY

Since their sudden arrival on the Australian alt-rock stage in October '03 - one of a startling new generation of bands to explode out of the isolated musical hotbed of Perth, Western Australia. Their self-titled EP (featuring “Relapse”) was an unexpected Top 30 hit and the next three Triple J Hottest 100 polls featured no less than six Little Birdy songs, including a #8 placing for Beautiful To Me and a surprise encore with their cover of Split Enz's “Six Months In A Leaky Boat” (from the Finns Brothers tribute album She Will Have Her Way).
The band’s fans included Melbourne folk-poet laureate Paul Kelly who was captivated by Katy’s voice and presence: a series of on-stage duets culminated in their haunting cover of the Polly Harvey/Thom Yorke song, “This Mess We're In”.
There was also, of course, a rocket ride of pub gigs and festivals, including big buzz showcases in New York and London and a triumphant appearance on the 2005 Big Day Out, which led to a national support slot with REM and Bright Eyes later in the year. Chapter one came to significant close with gold accreditation for BigBigLove and five ARIA Award nominations over two years.

vika and linda

VIKA & LINDA

In 1994, Vika and Linda Bull took centre stage after five years as featured backing vocalists in the million seller super group The Black Sorrows. Drawing from their rich cultural background (their mother is Tongan and father Australian) this uplifting Melbourne-based sister act grew up singing Gospel harmonies with their extended family. Vika & Linda spent six years touring the world with The Black Sorrows and have since established their pre-eminence in the Australian music scene with the release of the following successful albums: Vika and Linda 1994, Princess Tabu 1996, featuring Mark Lizotte and Jeremy Allom, Two Wings 1999, and their latest release Live and Acoustic 2000. Performances at WOMAD in Spain and sellout shows at London¹s Borderline Club have further enhanced their reputation internationally for being singers with enormous reserves of pride and soul. Their inspirational combination of beautiful gospel harmonies and joyous sense of performance celebrates a unique musical partnership.

boom crash opera

BOOM CRASH OPERA

Almost from its inception in 1985, Boom Crash Opera was the subject of competition between major record companies in a bid to snare the band.
Boom Crash Opera eventually signed to WEA with immediate results.
Pete Farnan and Richard Pleasance formed Boom Crash Opera in Melbourne with Peter Maslen, Greg O'Connor and newcomer Dale Ryder. Ryder became a pin-up idol, and it seemed Boom Crash Opera would become a case of contrived form over substance.
The band's first two exuberant singles, 'Great Wall'/'Caught Between Two Towns' (#7 in May 1986) and 'Hands Up In The Air'/'Leave' (#11 in August) put paid to that when each hit the national Top 20. The singles established the hallmarks of the Boom Crash Opera sound: the tight, funky rock of the music, the boom-like crack of the drums and the work song chant of the vocals.
American Alex Sadkin (Grace Jones, James Brown, Simply Red, Talking Heads) produced the band's eponymous debut album, which came out in September 1987. 'City Flat'/'Spirit Of Progress' (July 1987), 'Her Charity'/'Face That I'm Living In' (September) and 'Love Me To Death'/'Bombshell' (February 1988) were minor hits, while the album peaked at #17 nationally in November.
These Here Are Crazy Times (October 1989) reached #7 on the national chart in November, and yielded the monster hits 'Onion Skin'/'Rocks In My Head' (#11 in August), 'Get Out Of The House'/'Thinking In Slow Motion' (#24 in October) and 'The Best Thing'/'Flying A Kite In The Rain' (December). Look! Listen! featured the jubilant 'Dancing In The Storm' (#21 in May 1990) and 'Talk About It' (#35 in July). Two of their hit singles even made it onto the soundtracks of International film releases. 'Dancing In The Storm' featured in the well-known movies 'Don't Tell Mom The Babysitters Dead' and 'The Big Steal', and 'The Best Thing', also featured in 'Don't Tell Mom The Babysitters Dead'. 'Onion Skin' also hit number 5 in the US charts.
