The Substitutes are Melbourne’s most authentic '60s band being made up of veteran 60's & 70's musicians who play the best (and the lost gems) of the period.

With the authentic vocals and astonishing guitar work of Neil Scott (ex British ‘70s rock band Chalice), a rhythm section comprising legendary musical director and bassist Peter Robinson (ex The Strangers and ‘80s on the Edge) and leading Melbourne rock drummer Peter Reed (ex New Dream, Gary Young, Phil Manning, Pantha, Lynne Randall, The Tremors, Johnny O’Keefe), plus the punk energy of Peter Summers on guitar and keys (ex Riverina Playboys, Strange Idols), The Substitutes faithfully produce the sounds of the ‘60s, just like the record, but with real spirit, dry humour and a passion that you will remember.

We are Melbourne's best '60s band, bar none!
