DEAN AND CARRUTHERS

The name is synonymous with entertainment in Melbourne, having over 15 years experience and having played at every major venue. They specialise in Top 40 to classic covers, with 2 acoustic guitars complimented by 2 fantastic voices. Over the years their passion for entertaining has seen them perform everywhere from kitchens to concert halls & even for the prime minister at the Sydney opera house.

They never use song lists. They play what feels right at the time. Their one priority is to entertain & they don't stop until they get a reaction.

Terry Dean and Gary Carruthers are major players in Melbourne's live music scene. These boys are reputed to have single-handedly transformed duo-based live music to previously unheard of levels of popularity and earning power. Blessed with a brother-like blend of vocals and guitars and sounding uncannily like a full band, the pair has been pumping out an inspired mix of country-rock, rhythm & blues music along with the best party pop songs to packed houses over many years. Much imitated they are widely considered to be the best in the game.

Dean and Carruthers set the standard for what a rock duo can achieve by consistently putting on a first rate show in whatever situation they find themselves - pubs, clubs, kitchens, concert halls, special events, major sporting and corporate functions, television appearances, and so on. Preferring spontaneity to a set list, and their own hands and voices to any kind of electronic
backing, D&C are able to produce shows that always look and sound fresh.
Audiences are also treated to the boys' skills on a variety of instruments including acoustic, electric and lap steel guitar, mandolin, banjo, dobro and harmonica, so there is always plenty on offer for music lovers and party goers alike. These skills also keep the pair in demand for recording sessions and live instrumental/vocal backing with other artists such as Kasey Chambers.
